Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this Cute 1 Gallon Decorated Jug stamped "Cortland."
The decoration indicates that this is the work of Madison Woodruff who ran the pottery in Cortland, New York from 1849-1885 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, p. 71).
This beauty sports the Pottery Stamp with Cobalt Wash and a Brushed Cobalt Tulip with Four Leaves and a Blossom with Four Petals. Stands 10 3/4" tall.
Very Good Condition. A 1/2" chip on the bottom edge, a 1" square glaze flake on bottom edge in teh back, and some staining from use. No spout chips, hairlines, cracks, or restoration.
