Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 1 Gallon jug made and stamped by "Cowden & Wilcox, Harrisburg, PA."
This is the mark of John Wallace Cowden and Isaac Wilcox who ran the pottery in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania with this stamp from 1863 to 1880 (Phil Shaltenbrand, Big Ware Turners, pp. 55-58).
Thus beauty features the Pottery Stamp with Cobalt Wash, Cobalt Accents at the Handle Terminals, and a Brushed Cobalt Triple Leaf Decoration in Bright and Shiny Cobalt. Stands 10 1/2" tall.
Excellent Condition. A minor 1/8" nibble on the spout, and a 3/8" chip on the underside at the edge. No hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration. A stone ping on the left bottom and a glaze skip on the right center in the making.
