Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 2 Gallon Crock marked "Cortland."
This is the work of Madison Woodruff who ran the pottery in Cortland from 1849-1885 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, p. 71).
This beauty sports the Pottery Stamp with Cobalt Wash and Two Freehand Tulips Riding a Tornado! Measures 9 1/2" tall and 10" wide across the top.
Very Good Condition. Two chips on the rim (1/4", 1/2"), and four minor chips (1/8" to 1/4") and a larger chip (1 1/4"- closeup) on the bottom edge. No inner rim chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.
