Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this marvelous 2 Gallon Stoneware Jar made and stamped by "J. Weaver."
 
This is the work of John Weaver who made stoneware in Beaver, Pennsylvania from the late 1840's to about 1880 (Phil Shaltenbrand, Big Ware Turners, p. 113).
 
Dating around 1860, this beauty features a Thick Squared Rim, Tooled Shoulder, Pottery Stamp with Cobalt Wash, and Two Brushed Cobalt Sideways Tulips creating a Chain Across the Front.  Each tulip has 4 leaves and a blossom with 5 petals.  Rich and shiny cobalt.  Stands 11 3/4" tall. 
 
Exceptional Condition.  As made.  No damage of any kind.
