Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this Superb 3 Gallon Stoneware Jug made and stamped "Geddes, N.Y."  
 
This is most likely the work of William H. Farrar who worked in Geddes (Syracuse) from as early as 1840 and intermittently until 1868 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, 70).  
 
This beauty features the Pottery Stamp with Cobalt Wash, Freehand "3" Capacity Number, and Three Brushed Cobalt Daisies as the Decoration.  The daisy blossoms have five or six dotted petals surrounding a dotted center. Vivid, rich cobalt was used throughout the decoration.  Measures 15 1/2" tall.  
 
Excellent Condition.  Minor surface wear from use.  That's it!  No chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.
