Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 4 Gallon Stoneware Crock made and stamped by "J. Burger, Jr., Rochester, N.Y."
 
This is the work of John Burger, Jr. who ran the pottery in Rochester from 1880-1890 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, p. 74).
 
This beauty features the Oval Pottery Stamp with Cobalt Wash, Freehand "4" Capacity Number, and an Outstanding Cluster of Grapes Hanging from a Vine!  A vine with 10 leaves holds a large cluster of grapes in 7 rows with 40 individual grapes!  Measures 11" tall and 11 3/4" wide across the top. 
 
Excellent Condition.  Some staining on the back.  That's it!  No rim or base chips, hairlines, cracks, or restoration.
