Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 2 Gallon Jar with Freehand Decoration from Greensboro, Pennsylvania.  It is very likely a Hamiton and Jones product.

 

Circa 1865, this beauty features Top to Bottom Freehand Decoration.  From the top down are two straight stripes, undulating comma vining, two center straight stripes, the capacity number flanked by three dashes, and a bottom straight stripe. Stands 11 1/2" tall. 

 

Excellent Condition.  A couple minor 1/8" nibbles inside the rim, a 1/4" flake below the capacity number, and some scattered light staining.  No outer rim or base chips, hairlines, cracks, or restoration.
