Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this 1 1/2 Gallon Jar with Large Tulips from Baltimore, Maryland.

After some research, I am attributing it to David Parr, Sr. of Baltimore.  David Parr founded a pottery in Baltimore in 1815 and ran it until 1832 when he died of colera.  He had a famous pottery nephew, David Parr, Jr. The tulips on this jar are Parr's rendering which he used in part as he introduced Baltimore to profuse cobalt decoration on stoneware, and which were adopted by his nephew as well.

Circa 1820, this beauty features a Rolled Rim, Applied Hood Handles, and a Two Tall Brushed Cobalt Tulips on Each Side.   Stands 11" tall.

Good Condition.  A 7/8" chip on the rim, 1/4" chip on one handle, and a y-shaped hairline from the rim (closeup).  No inner rim or base chips, staining, or restoration.  Three recesses and stone protrusions in the making.
