Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this uncommon Oyster Jar made for "C. A. Potter, North Grosvenor Dale" in Connecticut.

Charles A. Potter. was born in 1849 and started a store in North Grosvenor Dale in 1882.  It specialized in meat, canned goods, fruit, and confections.

Dating to the 1880's, this oyster jar features Salt Glaze, and the Merchant Name with Cobalt Wash.  Stands 7 3/8" tall.

I can find no other example of this jar online anywhere.  The town was so small that Potter may not have had many made.

Very Good Condition.  A flat 3/4" chip on the top of the rim.  No inner rim or base chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.  LInes around the handle are surface-only in the making (closeup).
