Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this Rare Mug that reads, "Cleveland Saengerfest. Compliments of Bartholomay Brew Co., Rochester, N.Y."
Saengerfests were gatherings of German Singing Societies for the purpose of sharing their singing and celebrating their German heritage.
This mug was made by the Whites of Utica Pottery for "Hire's Root Beer." Dating to 1890-1907, this piece is a wonderful example of the skill that the Whites Pottery had gained in molded stoneware during those years.
This beauty features a Barrel Shape with Top and Bottom Molded Hoops and the Historical Event Embossed on the Front. Cobalt Accents. Stands 5 1/4" tall.
Exceptional Condition. As made. No damage of any kind. Typical manufacturing imperfections.
