    Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 1 Gallon Jar made and stamped by "B. C. Milburn, Alexa." 

     

    B. C. Milburn potted in Alexandria, Virginia from the early 1800's to just beyond the Civil War (Eddie Wilder, Alexandria, Virginia Pottery 1792-1876 , pp. 179-290).

     

    Dating around 1850, this beauty features a Carefully Tooled Rim, Applied Handles, Pottery Stamp, and a Brushed Cobalt Garland of Leaves and Dangling Tulips all the Way Around.  Shiny glaze and bright and dark cobalt.  Stands 10" tall.

     

    Very Good Condition.  Heavy chipping under the left handle, and two narrow chips on the bottom edge (3/8", 1 1/4").   No rim chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.  A small area pushed up on the bottom of the left side in the making (closeup).
