Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 2 Gallon Crock made and stamped by "A. O. Whittemore, Havana, N.Y."
This is the work of A. O. Whittemore who potted in Havana from 1862-1893 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, p. 72).
This beauty features the Pottery Stamp and a House with Addition that sports a Many Doors and Windows as well as Ground Cover. This house is more elaborate than most from this maker. I have never seen one with an addition before. Measures 9" tall and 10" wide across the top.
Very Good Condition with Restoration. Professional restoration for two 5" hairlines from the rim: to the left of the decoration (picture 1) and to the front of the left handle (picture 2). Otherwise, as made.
