• Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 3 Gallon Stoneware Crock made and stamped by "A. K. Ballard, Burlington, VT."

This is the mark of Alfred Ballard who ran the family pottery under this stamp from 1867-1874 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, p. 46).

This beauty sports the pottery stamp with cobalt wash and a Large Cluster of Grapes Hanging from a Vine! The vine has 6 leaves and the cluster has 13 grapes. Bright, dark, and shiny cobalt blue too!  Measures 10 1/2" tall and 11" wide across the top.

Very Good Condition.  Three small chips inside the rim (1/4" or less), a faint 4" hairline from the rim in the back nearly invisible outside (closeup), and some light staining from use.  No outer rim or base chips or restoration.  Out-of-round at the top in the making.
