Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful Stoneware 2 Gallon Dated Jar.  
 
The shape, decoration, and date indicate that this jar came from Connecticut.  
 
This beauty features an Early Ovoid Form with Tooled Shoulder, Applied Handles with Cobalt Wash at the Terminals, the Date 1848 on the Front, and a Small Plant on the Back.  Measures 9 1/2" tall and 9" wide across the top.
 
Excellent Condition.  Two 3/4" chips on the rim in the back, and a 1/4" chip on the left handle.  That's it!  No inner rim or base chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.
