Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 2 Gallon Stoneware Crock with Fishing Lure Decoration. 
 
It is attributed W. J. & E. G. Schrop of Springfield Township in Summit County, Ohio." They ran a pottery in Springfield Township, Ohio from about 1871 (see F. Robert Treichler, A History of Northeast Ohio Stoneware, pp. 80-82).
 
Dating around 1870, this beauty features a Nice and Small 2 Gallon Size with a Freehand Fishing Lure Decoration.  Measures 9" tall and 9 1/2" wide across the top.
 
Excellent Condition.  A single 3/16" nibble on the rim.  That's it!  No base chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration. A salt drip on the lower left front in the making.
