Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 1 Gallon Stoneware Jar whose decoration indicates that it was made by Peter Hermann.

Peter Hermann made pottery on Eager Street in Baltimore, Maryland from 1850-1872 (William Ketchum, American Stoneware, p. 98).

This beauty features a Carefully Tooled Rim designed to allow a wax covered paper or cloth to be tied securely around the top, and a Double Floral on Each Side Executed in Strong Cobalt.  Stands 10" tall.

Very Good Condition.  A couple faint surface-only lines at the rim (1/2", 1") and some staining from use.   No inner rim or base chips, hairlines, cracks, or restoration.  A couple flat flakes on top of the rim in the making.
