Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 1 Gallon Decorated Stoneware Jar.
The form and decoration makes it easy to attribute this jar to Richard Remmey who ran the family pottery in Philadelphia from the 1860's until the turn of the century (Phil Shaltenbrand, Big Ware Turners, pp. 8-10).
Dating to the 1870's, this beauty features a Tall Jar Form with Rolled Rim and Inscribed Shoulder,and a Three Flowers all Around. Bold and bright cobalt throughout! Stands 11 1/4" tall.
Excellent Condition. No damage. A stone ping at the end of the stem of one flower in the making.
