    Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 1 Gallon Jar attributed to Henry Remmey, Jr. of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

     

    Henry Remmey, Jr. ran the family pottery in Philadelphia from the 1820's to the 1850's (Phil Shaltenbrand, Big Ware Turners, pp. 8-10).

     

    Circa 1840, this beauty features a Tall Jar Form with Rolled Rim, Inscribed Shoulder, and Three Brushed Cobalt Flower Decorations around the Middle.  Each flower boasts a thick base of leaves from which the blossoms emerge.   Stands 10 3/4" tall.

     

    Excellent Condition.  No damage.  A stone ping at the end of the stem of one flower in the making.
