Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this Gorgeous 1 Gallon Decorated Stoneware Ovoid Jar. 
 
The decoration indicates that it was probably made by Jonathan and William Ingell who ran their pottery in Taunton, Massachusetts in the 1830's to 1840's (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, p. 50). 
 
This beauty features an Ovoid Form, Tall Tooled Rim, Inscribed Shoulder, Applied Handles with Cobalt Accents at the Handles Terminals, and a Bulbous Body with a Brushed Cobalt "Flying Tulip" on One Side and the Capacity Number in Script on the Other.  The tulip sports two large leaves that look like wings and a blossom with 6 petals in strong cobalt.   Stands 11" tall.
 
Excellent Condition.  A minor 1/8" nibble on the base.  Otherwise, as made!  A small 1/8" stone ping in the making where the two leaves on the decoration meet.
