Item 11780

Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful Stoneware 3 Gallon Ovoid Jar made and stamped by "Wm. E. Warner, West Troy."

This is the mark of William E. Warner who ran a pottery in West Troy, N.Y. in the 1840's and 1850's (William C. Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, pp. 67-68).

This beauty features an Early Ovoid Form, Tall Rim with Tooled Shoulder, and a Detailed Brushed Cobalt Floral with Ten Leaves,2 Blossoms, and 2 Buds.   All the cobalt is bright and shiny and looks fantastic on the clean, light gray glaze.  Measures 11 1/4" tall and 10" wide across the top.

Good Condition.  Water glass staining inside and some traces outside, and a faint 5" hairline from the rim in front of the left handle (closeup).  No rim or base chips, cracks, or restoration.
