  • Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 5 Gallon Stoneware Ice Water Cooler made by the Whites Pottery of Utica, New York."

     

    This an example of the fabulous blue and gray molded stoneware made by the Whites Pottery of Utica, N.Y between 1890 and 1907 (Christopher Bensch, The Blue and the Gray: Oneida County Stoneware).

     

    This beauty features an Embossed Placard with "Ice Water" on the Front, and Entire Floral Bouquet on the Back, and Overall Background of a Stone Wall Hosting Many Flowers.   The lid repeats the stone wall and floral motif.  Retains the original metal spigot.  The base is 15 1/4" tall. 

     

    Exceptional Condition.  The base has a single 3/8" chip on the underside of the frame around the striped spigot hole.  That's it!  The lid is as made.  Some bubbling in the glaze in the making.
