    Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 5 Gallon Jug made and stamped by the "West Troy Pottery, N.Y." 

     

    This is the mark used by William Warner of West Troy (now Watervliet) used from 1843 to 1871 (private research)

     

    Circa 1880, this beauty sports a Tall and Narrow Form, Pottery Stamp with Cobalt Wash, and a Very Large and Exuberant Floral Plume Decoration created with a Slip Cup in Bright Cobalt. This floral plume is 14" long!   Stands 18 1/2" tall.

     

    Excellent Condition.  A 1/4" chip inside the rim, and a faint 1/2" hairline on the spout (closeup).  No base chips, body hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.  Hot spot in the glaze in the making.
