    Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 1 Gallon Jug made and stamped by the "West Troy Pottery" of New York State.  

     

    This is the mark used by William Warner of West Troy (now Watervliet) from 1843 to 1871 (private research)

     

    Dating to the mid-19th century, this beauty sports a Clear Pottery Stamp and Rich Albany Slip Glaze with Darker Streaking.  You can see the fingertips of the potter in the glaze on the bottom of the jug from where he dipped the jug in the Albany slip.  Stands 9 3/4" tall   

     

    Exceptional Condition.  As made.  No damage of any kind.
