Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 4 Gallon Stoneware Jug made and stamped by "Burger & Co., Rochester, N.Y."
 
This is the mark of John Burger, Jr. who ran the family's pottery under this stamp from 1877-1879 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, p. 74).
 
This beauty sports a Tall and Narrow Form, the Pottery Stamp with Cobalt Wash, and the Freehand Capacity Number "4" Framed by a Large Wreath with Bottom Bow.  The decoration is executed with a slip cup in bright cobalt.  Stands 17" tall.
 
Exceptional Condition.  As made.  No damage of any kind.
