Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 2 Gallon Jug made and stamped by the "Fort Edward Pottery Co." 

 

This is the stamp of George A. Satterley who ran a pottery in Fort Edward, New York under this stamp from 1859-1861 (William Ketchum, Jr., Potters and Potteries of New York State, 1650-1900, 2nd ed., p. 248). 

 

This beauty features a Squared Spout, the Pottery Stamp with Cobalt Wash, and a Large Folk Art Bird on a Branch Decoration.  The cobalt is so rich and shiny and applied with precision with a slip cup.  The bird features a dotted breast, and many wing and tail feathers.  The branck is hollow tih dots inside.  Stands 13 3/4" tall. Comes with an old carved wooden stopper. 

 

Excellent Condition.  A  1/4" flake on the right side of the spout near the handle.  That's it!  No base chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.
