Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful Butter Crock that reads, "Compliments of W. L. Teed's Sons, Wholesale and Retail, Sayre, PA.  Retail Dealer in Wm. J Moxley's Special Oleomargarine. Better than Butter.  The Taste is the Test."  
 
Dating around 1900 by the Sherwood Brothers of New Brighton, Pennsylvania, this beauty features Blue and White Stripes Top and Bottom that Frame a Bordered Label with 11 Lines of Advertising and a Graphic Depiction of the Moxley Butter Carton.  Crisp and complete stenciling.  Stands 7 1/2" tall.  
 
Excellent Condition. A 1/2" chip on the underside. That's it!  No rim or base chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.  The lid is not original, but fits perfectly and is in perfect condition.
 
I cannot find a record online of a sale of one of these made for this merchant.
