Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 2 Gallon Stoneware Jar attributed to Henry Remmey, Jr. of Philadelphia, PA.

Henry Remmey, Jr. ran the family pottery in Philadelphia from the 1820's to the 1850's (Phil Shaltenbrand, Big Ware Turners , pp. 8-10).

Circa 1840, this beauty features an Rolled Rim with a Garland of Four Units of Two Flowers and a Leaf Each.   This is a very pleasing and identifiable Remmey decoration.   Strong cobalt throughout the design.  The decorator had a little extra room when he or she finished, so added another leaf to the last decoration!  Stands 11 7/8" tall.

Exceptional Condition.  As made.  No damage of any kind!
