Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 1 Gallon Decorated Stoneware Jar.

This jar is easily attributed to Richard Remmey who made stoneware in Philadelphia at the family pottery from the 1860's to the turn of the century (Phil Shaltenbrand, Big Ware Turners, pp. 8-9).

Circa 1870, this beauty features a Finely Tooled Rim and Three Large and Drooping Florals around the Middle.  Each flower has 7 to 8 leaves and a large blossom hanging off the top.  Gorgeous cobalt too!  Stands 10 1/2" tall.

Very Good Condition.  A 3/16" flake inside the rim and a 3/8" flake outside the rim.  A chip near the base that is partly in the making with a very faint T-shaped hairline below that wraps under 2" (closeup).  No base chips, stains, or restoration.   A small clay void in one flower in the making.
