Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this fantastic 2 Gallon Jug with a Rabbit Marked "Albany."
It is attributed to R. O'Connell of Albany, New York.
Circa 1860, this beauty features a Folk Art Rabbit on Elaborate Ground Cover. The rabbit is much, much larger than those found on Norton Stoneware and the ground cover more intricate. The decoration is executed with a slip cup using bright and shiny cobalt. Stands 15" tall.
Excellent Condition. Three chips inside (1/4" to 3/8"), a surface ping line on the right side, and a 3/4" chip on the back of the spout, and some wear around the base. That's it! No base chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.
