Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 1 Gallon Batter Jug made and stamped by "Sipe & Son, Williamsport, PA." 
 
This is the mark of William Sipe and his sons who ran their pottery with this stamp from 1879-1893 (Phil Shaltenbrand, Big Ware Turners, pp. 62-63).
 
This beauty features the Pottery Stamp with Cobalt Wash and a Brushed Cobalt Garland on the Back and a Smaller Cobalt Garland under the Spout on the Front.  Additional cobalt accent at the handle holders.  Stands 9 1/4" tall. 
 
Good Condition.  Small chips around the inside of the rim, minor nibbles and a 1/2" chip outside of the rim, three narrow chips on the bottom edge of the tooled rim, chips around the end of the spout (closeup), and a 1/2" on the front of the right handle holder.  No base chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.
