Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this Regal Recumbant Lion Doorstop.  
 
Dating to the early 20th century, this beauty is a Regal Lion with Full and Flowing Mane, Powerful Body with Large Feet, and a Long Tail.  Brown glaze.  Measures 18 1/4" long, 9 1/4" tall and 3" deep.
 
Not a typical piece of sewer tile!
 
Excellent Condition.  Two small 3/8" chips on the left side on the mane in the back, and a 1/2" chip on the bottom and underside in the back.  That's it!  No hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.  A narrow 1" clay void on the top near his hips in back in the making.
 
I can picture this piece residing by a door, above a door, on a mantel, or behind smaller pieces as a backdrop on a shelf or a table.  He will certainly garner some attention!
