Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this 2 Gallon Stoneware Crock made and Stamped by "N. A. White & Son, Utica, N.Y."
This is the work of Nicholas White and his sons, William and Charles who ran the Whites of Utica family pottery from 1865-1886 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware , pp. 70-71).
This beauty features the Pottery Stamp with Cobalt Wash, and a Large Orchid with Two Leaves, Two Blossoms, and Five Buds. Measures 9" tall and 10 1/2" wide across the top.
Good Condition. Water glass staining inside and some streaks outside and a faint 4 1/2" hairline from the rim in front of the left handle (closeup). No chips, cracks, or restoration.
