Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 1 Gallon Stoneware Jar made in Baltimore, Maryland.
 
Dating around 1850, this beauty features a Semi-Ovoid Form, Finely Tooled Rim, Applied Handles with Cobalt Accent at the Terminals, and a Garland of Freehand Vining Around the Shoulder with Two Dangling Tulips on Each Side.  It took 64 brushstrokes of cobalt to make the decoration. The cobalt is generous, bright, and shiny on a light gray glaze for strong contrast.  Stands 10" tall. 
 
Excellent Condition.  Some light surface wear, and very narrow 3/8" sliver chips on the bottom of three handle terminals.  That's it!  No rim or base chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.
