Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 1 Gallon Wax Sealer Canning Jar made for "Michael Moore, Gen. Store, Proctor, W. VA."
Moore had this jar made in SW Pennsylvania, probably at Greensboro.
Circa 1880, this beauty features the Wax Sealer Canning Jar Form with Grooved Rim for the Hot Wax Sealant, and Three Lines of Stenciled Advertising Accented with Tulips at the Top, Stylized Vining in the Middle, and an Emblem at the Bottom. Stands 9 3/4" tall.
Excellent Condition. A 1.4" chip on the inner rim and inside the outer rim. That's it! No outer rim or base chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration. What looks like a stain run on the left side is a run of interior glaze from the making.
