Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 1 Gallon Batter Jug made and stamped by "F. H. Cowden, Harrisburg." 

 

This is the mark of John Wallace Cowden who ran the company with this stamp from 1880-1888 (Phil Shaltenbrand, Big Ware Turners, pp. 55-58)

 

The front features features the Pottery Stamp with Cobalt Wash, and a Stenciled Snowflake Decoration.  Stands 8 3/4" tall

 

Excellent Condition.  A flat 3/8" chip on the rim in the back, and chippage under the handle at the base.  That's it!  No inner rim, spout or base chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.
