Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 1 Gallon Jug made and stamped by "Cowden & Wilcox, Harrisburg, PA."
 
This is the mark of John Wallace Cowden and Isaac Wilcox who ran the pottery in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania using this stamp from 1863 to 1880 (Phil Shaltenbrand, Big Ware Turners, pp. 55-58).
 
Thus beauty features the Pottery Stamp with Cobalt Wash, Cobalt Accents at the Handle Terminals, and a Brushed Cobalt Chrysanthemum Decoration in Bright and Shiny Cobalt.   Stands 11" tall. 
 
Good Condition.  A 2 1/2" craze line from under the spout (closeup), a 1" ping on the front bottom edge, and a hairline through the base of the handle.  No cracks, stains, or restoration.  A 1" chip on top of the spout in the back from separation from another piece of stoneware and some bubbles in the cobalt in the making.
