Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this gorgeous Blue and White Spongeware Pitcher in the Old Fashioned Garden Rose Pattern.
This beauty is featured in Taylor and Lowrance, Collector's Encyclopedia of Salt Glaze Stoneware, pp. 63-64.
Dating to the early 20th century, this beauty bears an Embossed Single-Stemmed Rose on Each Side. Crisp mold lines. The sponging is applied in dark and glossy cobalt in the Chain Link Pattern. Sponging in deep cobalt in 7 Columns of 5 Rings. Stands 9" tall.
Excellent Condition. Six small chips on the bottom edge in the back (1/8" to 3/8"). That's it! No rim chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.
