    Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 2 Gallon Merchant Jug made for "M. Rosenbluth, W-Barre, PA."  W-Barre is Wilkes-Barre for those outsude the region. 

     

    It was made and lightly stamped by "James Ryan, Pittston, PA."  Ryan made stoneware in Pittston from 1891-1911 (Phil Shaltenbrand, Big Ware Turners, pp. 35-37). 

     

    This beauty features the Pottery Stamp and Two Lines of Stenciled Advertising. Stands 13 1/4" tall.

     

    Excellent Condition.  A 1/2" chip on the top of the spout on the left side.   That's it!  No base chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.  A 3/4" stone ping on the left side near the bottom in the making.
