Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 3 Gallon Stoneware Water Cooler made and stamped by "F. T. Wright & Son, Stoneware,Taunton, Mass."
This is the mark of the Franklin T. Wright and his son who ran their pottery from 1866 to the 1870's (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, p. 50).
This beauty features a Barrel Shape with Incised Bands, Pottery Stamp, and a Stenciled Rose Bough with Many Delicate Buds, Blossoms, and Leaves. Measures 12" tall and 8 1/2" wide across the top.
Good Condition. A dozen chips inside the rim (1/8" to 3/4"), a 3/4" chip and adjacent 1" ping line outside the rim, and six chips on the spigot frame (1/4" to 3/4"). No hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.
