Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 1/2 Gallon Stoneware Wax Sealer Canning Jar made by "Jas. Hamilton & Co., Greensboro, PA."
 
James Hamilton ran his pottery in Greensboro from the 1860's to 1880 (Phil Shaltenbrand, Big Ware Turners, pp. 154-157). 
 
Dating to the 1870's, this beauty features a Tooled Grooved Rim for the Wax, and the Company Advertising in a Swirl of Vining Encompassing a Tobacco Leaf.  Complete, crisp, and strong stencil.  Stands 8" tall. 
 
Very Good Condition. Chips inside the rim and some glaze wear at the middle.  No outer rim or base chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.
