Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 1/2 Gallon Stoneware Wax Sealer Canning Jar made by "J. Hamilton & Co., Greensboro, PA."
 
James Hamilton ran his pottery in Greensboro from the 1860's to 1880 (Phil Shaltenbrand, Big Ware Turners, pp. 154-157). 
 
Dating to the 1870's, this beauty features a Tooled Grooved Rim for the Wax, and the Company Advertising in a Swirl of Vining.  Stands 8 1/4" tall. 
 
Very Good Condition. Some small chips inside the rim and a 2" hairline from the rim on the back (closeup).  No outer rim or base chips, cracks, stains, or restoration.
