Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 4 Gallon Double-Handled Jug made for "Horkheimer & Son, No. 1221 Main Street, Wheeling, W. VA."
This jug was made in Greensboro, Pennsylvania circa 1880.
This beauty features a Large Size, Double Handles with Cobalt Accent at the Handle Terminals, a Boughner Leaf Cradled by Upward-Sweeping Vining resting on a Wavy Stripe, the Company Advertising in Four Lines in the Middle, and the Capacity Number Flanked by Leaves and Underscored by a Wavy and Straight Stripe at the Bottom. Stands 18 1/2" tall.
Excellent Condition. A 3/8" chip on the bottom ring of the tooled spout, a 1/4" chip on the side of the right handle and a line through the base of that handle (closeup). That's it! No top of the spout or base chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.
