Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this fantastic 1 Gallon Stoneware Jar made by "Hamilton and Jones, Greensboro, PA."
This is the work of Frank Hamilton and John Jones who worked in Greensboro, Pennsylvania from 1865 to 1897 (Phil Shaltenbrand, Big Ware Turners, pp. 154-157).
Circa 1880, this beauty features Two Stripes at the Top and One at the Bottom that Frame the Company Advertising in an Oval surrounding a Center Garland and Floral. Additional vining accents at the top and leaf accents at the bottom. Bold Cobalt! Stands 9 3/4" tall.
Excellent Condition. A minor 1/8" nibble on the bottom ring of the tooled rim and some modest surface wear. That's it! No top rim or base chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.
