Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this fantastic 3 Gallon Stoneware Jar made by "Hamilton and Jones, Greensboro, PA." 
 
This is the work of Frank Hamilton and John Jones who worked in Greensboro, Pennsylvania from 1865 to 1897 (Phil Shaltenbrand, Big Ware Turners, pp. 154-157). 
 
Circa 1880, this beauty features a Stripe Underscoring the Rim, a Straight and Wavy Stripe Defining the Shoulder, the Company Advertising Surrounding and Eagle and framed by Tulips on the upper corners and leaves in the bottom corners Filling the Middle, and the Capacity Number Framed by Leaves and a Straight Stripe Completing the Decoration at the Bottom.   The eagle is flying with his head down and steering five arrows to their target.  All the decoration is crisp and complete.  Stand 14 1/4" tall.  
 
Exceptional Condition.  As made.  No damage of any kind.  I have tried, but I cannot find any!
