Item 13115

Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful Little 6 3/8" Bottle made and stamped on the bottom by "H. H. Zigler, Newville."

This is the work of Henry Zigler who made stoneware in Newville, Pennsylvania from 1852 to 1865 (Phil Shaltenbrand, Big Ware Turners, p. 44).

This beauty features a Bottle Form, Dark Brown Slip Glaze, and a Clear Pottery Stamp on the Bottom.  Stands 6 3/8" tall.

As the last picture illustrates with the five fingerprints on the bottom, the potter dipped this jar by hand on the liquid glaze.

Excellent Condition. Two minor glaze nibbles on top of the spout.  That's it!  No chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.  A kiln touch on the shoulder in the making.
