Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 1 Gallon Stoneware Pitcher made and stamped by "Frank B. Norton, Worcester, Mass."
This is the mark of Frank Norton who operated the pottery in Worcester using this stamp from 1876 to 1886 ("The F. B. Norton Pottery: Stoneware of Every Description." Worcester Historical Museum, 1980-1981).
This beauty features a Great Form with Tall Rim and Bulbous Base, the Pottery Stamp with Cobalt Wash, and a Large Brushed Cobalt Swirl Floral Decoration. This is one of Norton's signature decorations and the bright cobalt that you come to expect from the Norton Pottery. Stands 10" tall.
Excellent Condition. A minor 1/8" nibble on the underside. That's it! No rim chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration. A small stone ping on each side in the making.
