Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 2 Gallon Crock made and stamped by "F. B. Norton Sons, Worcester, Mass."
This is the work of Frank Norton and his sons who made stoneware in Worcester using this stamp from 1868-1886 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, pp. 52-53).
This beauty features the pottery stamp with cobalt wash and a Dove on a Branch Decoration Executed with a Slip Cup. The dove has squiggle wing feathers and is perched on an elaborate branch. Measures 9 1/2" tall and 9 3/4" wide across the top.
Excellent Condition. A minor 1/4" chip inside the rim. That's it! No outer rim or base chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration. Two stone pings and some bubbles in the thicker part of the cobalt in the making.
