Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 1 1/2 Gallon Cake/Butter Crock made and stamped by "Frank B. Norton, Worcester, Mass."
This is the work of Franklin Norton who made stoneware in Worcester using this stamp from between 1876-1886 ("The F. B. Norton Pottery: Stoneware of Every Description." Worcester Historical Museum, 1980-1981).
This beauty features a Cake or Butter Form, Pottery Stamp with Cobalt Wash, and a Bold Cobalt Stylized Floral Executed with a Slip Cup. Measures only 7" tall and 10" wide across the top.
Very Good Condition. Two 3/8" chips inside the rim, a minor nibble on the right handle, and some staining from use. No outer rim or base chips, hairlines, cracks, or restoration.
