Item 11131
Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this Sublime 6 Gallon Crock made and stamped by "Evan R. Jones, Pittston, Pa."
Jones potted in Pittston in the 1870's and 1880's (Phil Shaltenbrand, Big Ware Turners, pp. 34-37).
This beauty features a Large Size, the Pottery Stamp with Cobalt Wash, and a Large Brushed Cobalt Floral with 8 Leaves and 2 Blossoms with 14 Petals Each. The cobalt is shiny and dark and the floral fills the entire front of the crock. Measures 13" tall and 12 1/2" wide across the top.
Very Good Condition with Restoration. There is professional restoration on the back at the bottom 3" and some on the underside for a faint line, but nothing at all appears inside. So perhaps for some glaze flaking and craze lines?? Otherwise, as made.
