Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 3 Gallon Jug made and stamped by "Cowden & Wilcox, Harrisburg, PA."
This is the mark of John Wallace Cowden and Isaac Wilcox who ran the pottery in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania using this stamp from 1863 to 1880 (Phil Shaltenbrand, Big Ware Turners, pp. 55-58).
Thus beauty features the Pottery Stamp with Cobalt Wash and a Brushed Cobalt Grape Vine with Two Leaves and a Branch bearing a cluster of 8 Grapes. Bright and shiny cobalt on a light gray glaze. Stands 15 1/2" tall.
