Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 1 Gallon Cream Pot made and stamped by "Cowden & Wilcox, Harrisburg, PA."

 

This is the mark of John Wallace Cowden and Isaac Wilcox who ran the pottery in Harrisburg with this stamp from 1863 to 1880 (Phil Shaltenbrand, Big Ware Turners , pp. 55-58).

 

The front features the Pottery Stamp with Cobalt Wash and a Brushed Cobalt Chrysanthemum Blossom.  Measures 8" tall and 8 1/4" wide across the top,

 

Good Condition,  A 1" chip on the rim on the right side, a 1/2' chip on the center left side, and two nearly invisible hairlines from the rim:  on the front 2" to the top of the blossom (closeup 1),  and on the back 3" (closeup 2)
